In 1905 Lewis H. Lasseter was resident in the rural community of Phelps in upper New York state, he arrived in the district by ways and means unknown in 1902 and the following year married Florence Scott, her family arrived in America on the Mayflower. The address where one could purchase a six month supply of Lasseter's Lucky Find for a dollar, 5 Eagle Street, was rented or leased from a Mr. Edmund Needham to Florence Lasseter for a peppercorn rental of a dollar. Lasseter also tried his hand at selling sewing machines.
