Colson returns to Alice Springs with the mail and new instructions from Blakeley, Mickey has had quite enough of foreign lands and returns to Archie Giles station with Colson.

The Expedition, now without the services of one of it's stalwarts, turns west for Illbilla, they intend to make it a leisurely return  on the now well beaten track.

Coote still on the mend in Alice Springs but confirms he will be fit enough to guide Hall to Illbilla in a couple of days. That's O.K. by Hall, he will need a few days to repair some minor damage to the G.G. II. Bent the plane at Bloomfield's place with Father Long on board...a wing and a prayer eh!.
