With new loads made up and water replenished from the spring the men get underway by 9.00 and make good time over a mulga covered sand plain to Mount Udor West where they camp for the night. The tracks of the Thornycroft from the first expedition are plainly discernable. Colson and Bailey arrive with the camels at 10ish, held up by last nights rain, lunch early then Bird and Colson with a days supply of tucker set off to prospect the hills north of the Blackstone Range, intend to be at camp 53 by tomorrow evening. Mick, the party's Aboriginal camelman forges ahead with the rest of the camels, like his namesake on the first C.A.G.E. Expedition, a real stalwart and a valuable member of the team. Terry almost hors de combat, has to helped onto the truck and off, the short run to camp 53 an agony, immediately laid up on the stretcher and doctored by Bailey.
