The petrol party finally arrives at Illbilla, mid morning and there are no signs of Lasseter or Pittendrigh and Hamre, confirmed by 'King Billy' a Pintubi elder. There is evidence that Lasseter has returned to the camp after Johns left on 30/10/30 otherwise all seems intact. The men enjoy an invigorating shower during a heavy thunderstorm at lunch time. Terry can barely hobble about camp, likens himself to the village ancient. Colson on a fruitless two hour hunt for rabbits. Bailey and Bird, somewhere off to the northwest are finding the usual barren country, granite and diorite far and wide and water getting low, while searching they disturb an Aboriginal camp, they abandon a considerable food supply including eight rabbits and a goanna, hopefully they'll return. Numerous birds indicate plentiful water in large rockholes, almost semi permanent by size and depth.
