The Golden Quest II does not arrive today. Later that morning four adult male Aboriginals and four boys arrive in camp and inform the men that there is a large group of Aboriginals camped to the north busy with initiation ceremonies. Taylor receives an invitation to visit their camp tomorrow. Johns is not invited.

Lasseter leaves Lake Christopher today, Johanson has failed to arrive, if he ever had any intention of doing so. Harry ambles east, wondering what to do next, his options do not include returning to Alice Springs to face arrest or ridicule, how long can the supplies at Illbilla hold out.

Camp 56,Terry, now improving daily, and his mates Bird and Mick enjoy roast rabbit for breakfast, a delicious change from tinned dog, anything would be. Not surprisingly Bird of prospecting the ranges to the north, in the rain. Mick searching for soakage water and Terry writing up the log and field notes.

7.00 p.m and Terry waits anxiously for Bird, lights a large fire to guide him in, a very weary prospector arrives shortly after with nothing hopeful to report. Terry reflects on the dedication of the man.

Perth connected to Adelaide by telephone (thus to the rest of Australia) bloody long time coming.
