Coote leaves the Alice very early this morning, Carrington hopes never to see him again. The pilot lands at Mascot, Sydney  after 14 hours and 49 minutes flying.

It's a clear morning near Mount Davies and the ground not so bad after last nights rain, Terry and mates decide to push on. Breakfast is an interesting affair for both Black and White, the Aboriginals taking great delight in feeding the camels...at arms length, and generally getting in the way of the team while packing up. Off at last and a trig point picked up which cause s Terry to think he may be off course and south of the mount, heads north and catches up with the camel team who are being escorted by four young men, armed, according to Colson their job is to make sure at any cost that the whitefellas don't interfere with sacred objects in a nearby cave. That certainly wont happen with Terry in charge. Through Bundey pass to a lunch camp a mile north of the objective, the camels arrive mid afternoon and the days camp set up at the base of the Murra Yilyah outcrop, where Earle is supposed to have made his 'cave of gold' discovery. At sundown a violent wind with thunderstorms threatening.
