The Endeavour expedition on the track by 7.30 under a cloudy hazy morning with an east wind and clouds of dust rising from Lake Wilson, difficult to discern trig points an land marks, they push on much by dead reckoning towards Mount Davies and the fabled Murra Yilyah outcrop. Find a running stream and fill up and some road building, a busy morning but progress made. Twelve miles towards Mount Davies by mid afternoon, heavy ground, some dense mulga. While cooling off the first Aboriginals arrive, a mob of thirty or more, men, women and children, all in fine condition and all very interested in the vehicle and whitefellas, too interested perhaps and Terry motors on at speed to a 5.00 p.m. camp. The camels arrive with a larger crowd of Aboriginals in tow, they camp a hundred yards away which leaves Terry a little concerned. Violent thunderstorm from the west on evening with brilliant lightning then light steady rain for the rest of the night.
