Bailey on camp as cook and guard while Colson prospects the nearby hill, the usual granite, quartz, schist and diorite with just a trace of iron in the pan, not encouraging. Bird and Terry travel nine miles north on the camels and see nothing of interest. An unpleasant surprise on return to camp, over a hundred Aboriginal camped close by, friendly enough but unpredictable intentions. After tea while Terry writes up notes and the other play cut throat bridge, thirty Aboriginals come right into camp, ostensibly to invite the men to a corroboree but Terry suspects devilment and all firearms and ammunition issued, shrieking, yelling and yapping dogs through the scrub. A fitful nights sleep, they'll be glad to be out of the place in the morning.
