Midday very hot and close, they proceed west along the southern slopes of Mount Hinckley, by 4.30 the truck is well ahead making very good time over a dry swamp then through small granite hills and boulders. Terry, mind on many other things, drives over one of the boulders and smashes the front right spring of the truck, repairs completed by 5.30 just as the camels arrive, camp set up half a mile on on a plain of brilliant green feed. the expedition is now over the Western Australian border.
