Paddy Tucker arrives in Alice Springs, taking only eleven days to return from the Rock, immediately recommissioned by Coote to return to the Rock to recover the petrol and supplies as the search for Lasseter is over for the time being. The Endeavour team away at 7.45 after first burying a petrol supply for the return. Mostly first gear driving for the Morris today, occasionally second, the main problem being no traction on the lush growth, bogged in parakeelya yet!! the camel team heads west and the vehicle to the north west around the Mann range, they discover yet more camel tracks and follow them to a lunch camp where they take on half a drum of water as the Morris boils frequently using eight gallons. Terry decides the strange camel tracks belong to a couple of acquaintances by the names of Brownie and Brumby, out dogging. Prospect a rare outcrop of sugary quartz and ironstone with the usual result, no colour of gold.
