Terry and Williams spend most of the day anxiously searching for smoke signals from the long overdue camel team and burn off a hill of spinifex sending up their own smokes, no response until mid afternoon when a signal is sighted to the west then nothing further, more worry. Terry decides he may have to walk to Oparinna waterhole to check the situation. Just on dark the silly dog rushes about and the missing camel men arrive.

Blakeley, Sutherland and Colson stranded at Stirling Station, Central Australia is slowly grinding to a halt as widespread and heavy thunderstorms  disrupt all communications.
